The Cohort Heat Map works much like the students' individual Heat Map. However, it shows you data from every ITE student you have subscribed to our platform, at your institution. It has been designed to use the data your ITE students have already entered and present it to you in a way that will let you see how they are doing when it comes to meeting the graduate standards. It's also a great way of giving your course, or program, leaders an overview of strengths and growth spots in a cohort. You can use this data to start conversations about areas of growth in course development and to celebrate successes. It can also be handy to identify outliers, such as students that may need extra support going forward or who need to be celebrated!
How do I access the Cohort Heat Map?
When you log in (with your reporting account) you will see your dashboard. From here, scroll over the “Reporting” menu and choose “Cohort Heat Map”
Report Configuration Options
When you get to the Cohort Heat Map page, you’ll see that you have some configuration options for this report that will alter how the report behaves:
To see your students' data at the Graduate Career stage, simply leave the default settings.
The standard Success criteria setting makes the data report in alignment with the most common requirement. At Graduate, this will be as follows:
- 1 post per FA = Results highlighted in Green
- 0 post per FA = Results highlighted in Red
But… we know you might want to change things here so feel free to click “Custom” and change the numbers for Green (High enough count) and Amber (Nearly high enough count).
Point In Time Reporting
You have the choice to run the report to show data at a specific point in time. This can be useful for comparing progress between two points. Simply select the date for which you would like the report to be generated.
Note: Reports can only be run for dates where the data has been aggregated for your organisation. This occurs each day from the inception of your ITE students completing their Student Registration Details.
Report Filter Options
Once you've configured how the report behaves, you'll then want to filter what data is included in the report. You can achieve this using the report's Advanced Options.
Below the Report Configuration Options you will find a link to access the Advanced Options. Clicking this link will reveal the filters that you can apply to your report's data.
Using these settings you are able to produce a cohort heat map for:
- A particular program or course;
- Students attending a particular campus;
- Students from a particular year of study (for example, all second year students);
- A particular student by Student Identifier;
- By individual student qualifiers.
When you’re ready to see what the data tells you, click the “Download Heat Map” button and wait a few short moments for your word document to download.
