When you're asked to chose what type of role you'd like to give your colleague you'll need to consider what you'd like to achieve through your collaboration. Here is a basic overview of the different user roles and the permissions associated with each one:
- Subscriber: Choose this if you'd like to keep a list of edufolios that you regularly access. You will have the option to visit their site but you will not be sharing your dashboard.
- Contributor: Via your dashboard, contributors can read, write and delete the evidence posts that you have shared publicly. They can not see your unpublished, private posts, the cannot write new posts or upload new media files. This is great for sharing with a colleague when you want something to be assessed or you would like feedback on evidence that you have already posted and are confident with.
- Author: Authors can publish and manage your public evidence posts. They can also add new content to your Edufolios such as a new post, media etc. They can not access your private or unpublished content. This is handy if you want to work together on creating some evidence. You can not write at the same time but you can work together on on evidence post.
- Editor: This is best if you want to work with a mentor or studybudy to show them your evidence posts before you publish them. An Editor can read and write both public and private content. They have full access to everything listed in your Evidence Posts area.
- Admin: Administrators have access to all the administration features.
